Evacuated because of Computer Beeping

Just something funny for people who know at least something about computers:

A couple weeks ago, my school of about 1300 students was evacuated because of an apparent “bomb scare”; but the funny thing is, what they thought was a bomb, was just a computer beeping. The beeping was caused by someone who had left a book on the keyboard (which is a precaution on many PC’s to tell the user that they are pressing multiple keys at once).

Windows Vista - Wallpaper 1

Next Windows gets a name; Vista.

The next version of Windows (codename Longhorn) Microsoft has been working on since 2001 has officially been given a name; Windows Vista.

Reactions from the people to the name haven’t been very high, but that was the same with Windows XP when the name was first announced. I’m sure once this new Windows is released, the name would have grown on people and they’ll like it.

Other people say that the new name doesn’t roll off the tongue easily, but if said like “WinVi”, that’s very easy to say.

Beta 1 of Windows Vista is set to hit developers by August 3rd, 2005. The final version of the operating system won’t be released till 2006.
